Savannah's Super Summer 2012

Holy Cow!  Savannah had a super summer.  No wonder I am so worn out.  Between the five children, I am surpised my brain is still functioning!
I had to include one more picture of the softball sisters.  This was supposed to be their goofy, smoozy picture.  I think Abigael has got it.  :)
Savannah was also able to play with the Utah Surge this summer.  It was a great experience as she was picked up for a utility player.  She played a lot and made a lot of new friends.
The first stop on the way to Nationals in Florida.  Aislynn Weaver traveled with us, along with her mom Kim, who was also one of the coaches that helped me this year.
One step closer, at the airport.  We couldn't forget where we parked so we took a picture.
Finally on the airplane.  This was Savannah's first time flying.  We left Lapoint at about 9:00 am and arrived in Florida about 12:30 am when we accounted for the time change.  It was a long, first day.  When the girls first stepped out of the airplane they thought they couldn't breath because of the low elevation and humidity.  They were suprised to hear they should be able to breath better!  It took a couple of days for them to get used to it.
We made a stop at Universal Studios the day before the tournament started.
All aboard the Hogwarts Express--The new Hogsmeade Village at Universal Studios.  It was amazing and huge!  It looked like we stepped into the land of Harry Potter.
Savannah fell in love while in Florida, with a ham bone.
Some of Savannah's teammates for Omega Volleyball Club at Opening Ceremonies in the Atlanta Braves Training Facility.  It was huge!  Each team was introduced, shown on a gigantic TV screen, and walked around the whole field before they took their place.  At the opening ceremonies they also had performing acts from Disney and Fireworks.  It felt like the Olympics!
Outside our condo.  Boy was it green.  When we flew back into Utah, boy was it brown.
Daytona Beach, Florida. We even drove by the Daytona 500 Race Track.  While we were at the beach a guy caught a baby shark from the pier not far from where we were swimming.
It rained for the last three days we were there, but it was still very warm outside.  The day we flew out a hurricane was coming into Tampa.  Good time to leave!

The end of the journey in Florida. The trip was such an amazing experience, we were gone for a whole week!  We didn't win the tournament, but we learned a lot.  In the end over 1700 teams attended the event.  We ended up 1st in Utah and 21st in the nation.  We felt like that we could have placed higher, but were happy with our first time attending nationals.  We want to go again!

 Savannah's Roosevelt Rumble 12U Team 2012
Savannah playing with the Utah Hot Shots at the Triple Crown World Series in Park City.  It was an interesting experience playing for the Hot Shots because they have always been one of our biggest rivals!
Savannah in Little Miss Basin Pageant.  Savannah did amazing in this pageant.  She won pageant dress and felt like she really did her best.  She wants to continue to work on her interview skills and participate again next summer.  Those eyes...I was so proud of her.  In my heart I felt like she had accomplished all she set out to do.
